Subject: Membership Renewal Change

To all Lincs Bird Club members.

The committee has decided to make a significant change to membership administration and to follow the example of the Lincolnshire Naturalists Union in handing it over to the membership department of the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust in return for an annual fee. This was voted on at the last AGM and agreed by the membership.

The chief reason is to institute direct debit subscription payments, thus removing the burden of handling a large number of small value cheques and reducing the number of membership renewal reminders our membership officer has to send. Unfortunately, the bank regards the Lincs Bird Club as too small to have its own direct debit scheme!

The Committee hopes that most, if not all, members will choose this method of payment. For any who do not, subscription cheques will still be accepted. No payment will be requested until you have received a direct debit confirmation letter.

Mike Harrison remains membership officer of the Club and will continue to handle all other aspects of membership.

A letter containing the direct debit paperwork will be sent out to all members in the next few weeks,

Regards

Andrew

This is good news Andrew. For those of us getting a bit long in the tooth and a bit short of neurones Direct Debit does give some comfort in knowing important subscriptions are not forgotten, like my LBC sub this year!
