Drake Ring-necked Duck found by Dean Nicholson this afternoon at Whisby NP on Teal Lake showing well. Presumably the same bird that was at Kirkby on Bain a few weeks ago.

Cheers

Despite spending the day looking around the Whisby area there was no sign of the duck. There were probably 200 tufted ducks to scan. Plenty of teal c100, Gadwall c100 and pochard c100. 4 male goldeneye and about double the amount of females scattered around the site. One or two shoveler were on Grebe Lake

There was also a flock of 70/80 lapwing flying around Grebe Lake about dusk and another 11 on Willow Lake. Arund 50 greenfinch were looking to roost near the chicken farm but were disturbed by a sparrowhawk

One buzzard was high over the reserve and the other highlight was 5 bullfinch of which 4 were male
