They are on the opposite side of the road, back towards Short Ferry. Access is over the gate at the left side of the Environment Agency depot with a path down to the hide. There is a car park area, on same side as Fiskerton fen, just past the EA depot.

Hello Mike,
The scrapes immediately in front of the hide are often devoid of birds, the larger scrape to the right is where they seem to congregate. If it rains heavily take wellies as the path from the road to the hide does flood.
All the best
Ian

Again, many thanks, found the spot on Sunday but did not venture down to the hide, did not have correct sea gear/wellingtons/thigh boots,
Mike

Michael,
There is also another access point to the Scrapes. After parking your car in the corner of the field as Andy describes above there is a footpath leading back towards Cherry Willingham/Lincoln. Im guessing its about 200 m long and is sandwiched between a hedge (and the road) to the right and fields to the left. At its end, you then have to cross the road and basically double back on yourself towards the EA place and Short Ferry, behind the roadside hedge. This footpath leads you directly to the hide and scrapes although Andy's route is a lot more direct from your parked car. However I only mention this because the fields and edges themselves can give good views of commoner/farmland birds.

Matthew.
