Went to Blacktoft Sands with Andrew Vaughan. We wanted to avoid the airshow traffic but heavy rain when Andrew picked me up changed our plans from Lound to Blacktoft where the hides provided plenty of cover from the promised showers. In the end the hides were not needed
Water levels were high on most lagoons
Our highlights were
2 adult water rails and 3 chicks - my first water rail chicks
4 spotted redshank
7 common redshank
1 ruff
1 green sandpiper
4 little egrets
at least 3 pairs of marsh harrier
