Hi,
On a flying visit to Gib Point I saw 2 Little Egrets standing on the wooden bridge adjacent to Visitor Centre. Very, very surreal ! They then flew down to a water channel parallel to the car park. (2:30pm 3/1).
I also saw a buzzard species perched in a conifer tree about 300 or so yards from the Mere hide. Too far away to make +ve ID. as I left my telescope at home by mistake.
2 GS woodpeckers in wood between the two car parks.
Heard a treecreeper as well.

Hi Clive

The rough legged buzzard favours perching up and roosting in the pine trees north west of the Mere.

For anyone wishing to see this bird - it is best to scan the pines from high ground on the the East Dunes eg Mill Hill.

Cheers

Kev
