On the 15th - single brown Hen Harrier over the saltmarsh, later a Sparrowhawk over. Also Skylark 35+ and Fieldfare 5 disturbed by these raptors. Beyond the outer dunes from Rimac in a relatively sheltered area of saltmarsh were lapwing 52, Golden Plover 30 and Redshank 35 all mixed together feeding.

Today 16th - Over the saltmarsh Fieldfare 7, Redwing 2, Lapwing 10 and Kestrel 2. Also of interest a grey Hen Harrier over mid afternoon which is a different bird to the one I've regularly seen which was a fine 'clean coloured' male. This one was a first winter bird with much more brown mixed in with the grey on the chest and back/wing feathers.

Otherwise very quiet except for garden birds at the feeder all scrabbling for food at this harsh time. Last night's min was -10.0C, air min -8.0C and max 3.0C.
