A brisk 40mph north-easterly wind produced some good sea birds:

Fulmar 5 (North)
Kittiwake 1ad (North)
Little Gull 1ad (South)
Great Skua 2 (South)
Guillemot 1
Red-throated Diver 30

Other bits around the reserve:
Merlin 1
Corn Bunting 60 (90+ yesterday 19th)
Meadow Pipit 50

All the scrapes have been frozen for about a week now. Up to 3 Water Rails have been showing well in front of the middle Tennyson hide (Fenella Hope hide) recently, but apart from that, very little else.

Woodcock numbers have been building up in the past week, with at least 20 birds present yesterday (19th).

Cheers,

Richard
