A glorious day around The Wash today. Whisper it but Spring may just be starting to, erm, spring!
First up was Westgate Wood, Wyberton. It's relatively new woodland (planted in December 1999) but it is beginning to attract some great little visitors now (Waxwing, Mealy and Lesser Redpoll, Whitethroat in the last twelve months) as well as raptors such as Kestrels, Sparrowhawk, Buzzard and Barn Owl.
In the summer, the dyke that runs along the western edge of the wood has held Reed and Sedge warblers.
