3 Female Pheasents at my home in Wood Enderby, eating normal bird seed, but no male.

Why would this be? Males are shot?

Can't add anything scientific to this Alistair but Mum and Dad have had 1 male (Fred) and his harem of 6 - 10 females come into their garden for a couple of years. They feed on the seed that they put out for them. Have no idea where they spend the rest of the time when not in the garden. The garden is in a village on the outskirts of Grimsby.
