A damp and dreary hour or so weatherwise, but still worth it for the birds.

Lesser Spotted Woodpecker - the female seen this morning in and around the same spot of damp woodland by Crescent Pond/1st Cut Through showing well.

Also here:
Siskin - 12
Goldcrest - 1

Lake:

Little Egret - 1 on the island.

Back at the feeders in the garden, visitors have included:

Brambling - 1m still (plus the female has also been around again the last couple of days)
Siskin - 2
Redpoll - 13

What a difference the weather makes - a fine sunny almost spring like day on Monday and had both Sparrowhawk and Buzzard circling nearby to the house enjoying the thermals.

Popped into Hartsholme Park this morning. The female Lesser Spotted Woodpecker was showing well on the tree directly opposite the old boat house entrance. I didn't pick up the male though.

A walk around the main lake produced a small flock of 8-9 siskins, 3 Goldcrests and a fleeting glimpse of a kingfisher as it streaked past.

Righto - time to get Lesser Spotted on the list - how accessible is that area of Hartsholme Park by public transport? What bus from the railway station?

Very accessible. Route 66 is the nearest with route 44 as an alternative with a bit further to walk. Trouble is the birds have showed early in the day. Lots of dog walkers in the area in question as the area is right at the centre of the park
