Still good birds for Whisby NR to be found (as well as up to 10 singing Nightingales), with 2 Avocet at Teal Lake yesterday (Dean Nicholson) and a visiting birder had a Sandwich Tern over Grebe Lake today, the second record for the Reserve this year.

Cheers

It was our 3rd attempt for the Nightingales, and the two around Oak Wood were strong singers and so confident they were out in the open, made Di's evening, especially as we also found the Cetti's.

Took time to take a friend to hear the Nightingales last night, to not only enjoy the song but to see one feeding on the ground in full view. It just returned to the bushes as the Lincoln RSPB group approached. Hope they were rewarded with both song and a sight of it.
