I walked around BBH this afternoon, checking the numerous Buddleias in front gardens. I came across just one Painted Lady (my first in BBH this year), large numbers of Peacocks ( they've had an excellent emergence) and Whites; plus a few Gatekeepers, Commas, Meadow Browns and Small Tortoiseshells.
Still no Red Admiral or Small Copper here, as seen in previous years.

Painted Lady on lavender in my garden this morning and two small coppers alighted on my golf ball at Market Rasen yesterday! I have never seen so many whites before - they're everywhere.

There's been a ' super emergence ' of Peacocks and all 3 Whites this summer.

I'm pleased not to have to worry about a cabbage-patch, the 2 Cabbage Whites being so numerous.
