Following some overnight rain and a promise of an easterly element to the wind, it was time for a visit to the coast. Just across the Humber, Spurn seemed to be straining under the weight of Wrynecks, Pied Flys, Redstarts and Whinchats, but on the Lincs side it was pretty hard going (although rewards were clearly to be had further south along the coast!)

A group of roosting waders in fields near Tetney Lock comprised:

Golden Plover - 625
Dunlin - 4
Ringed Plover - 1
Turnstone - 1

Out over the marsh and creeks.......

Little Egret - 12
Greenshank - 1
Common Sandpiper - 3
Sparrowhawk - 1
Peregrine - 1 (excellent views harrassing the waders and having a half hearted attack on a Mallard)

In the vicinity of North Cotes Point.....

Linnet - 3
Greenfinch - 3
Goldfinch - 2
Skylark - 2
Swallow - 12
House Martin - 2

....the hedge running inland seemed birdless but after an hour and half of persistence finally gave up:

Great Tit - 1
Blue Tit - 2
Willow Warbler - 2
Reed Warbler - 1 (bit out of place and had me going for a moment on initial brief view)

Walking back towards Tetney Haven..

Arctic Skua - 2 dark juv heading inland from the Humber - and kept going

Trees near lock:

Pied Flycatcher - 1

Kingfisher - 1 along channel
