Doing my webs count at Chowder Ness Barton this morning I heard the distinctive cronk of a Raven and turned to see a pair approaching from the south west; in the next 45 minutes they passed over me 4 times flying as far as the Humber bridge and then back over the Wolds where one even did some tumbling and rolling display before the finally flew east then crossed the Humber heading north over Hessle thus becoming the most northerly Ravens in the county and a patch tick that I would never have expected 20 years ago.
Also a minimum of 2000 Pink- feet feeding on Barton Wolds today but appeared to be a lot more went into the roost tonight.

Obviously a good weekend for raven display with the Kirkby Underwood birds displaying high (very high in fact) over Hawthorpe on the 22nd with rolling, tumbling and close following. Also 8 buzzards over Temple wood, 2 sparrowhawk and 3+ kestrel. Vin
