Nice to meet you yesterday John - and thanks for your efforts with the rarities, but yesterday was just one of those days I seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time!

Just a few of the migrants noted around Churchill Lane during the afternoon (13/10) although numbers were difficult to judge for some species with much movement through and over the dunes.

Ring Ouzel - 2
Chiffchaff - 4
Snipe - 2
Bullfinch - 1f
Sparrowhawk - 1
plus Robins, Dunnocks, Blackbirds and Redwings flitting about constantly (although did not seem to be in any great numbers), same for Goldcrests with several Yellowhammer, Reed Bunting and particularly Chaffinch also evident.

A very quick look at Brickyard Lane as the light was fading and the next heavy shower loomed produced 1 cracking male Ring Ouzel, a few more Blackbirds, Robins and Goldcrests as well as another Sparrowhawk trying its luck.

Matthew
