Beats me Colin. That's why I added a question mark.

Can't recall much woodland along that track. Just a few small copse.
It's possibly that copse on the last Sharp R/Hand bend in track.
(Think there's a new building & some pig pens behind it now)

If not then I pass!

I can think of a few spinneys or cops but none that I would describe as a 'wood' but I am ready to be better informed.

don't know who had them colin, all these birds and I have been unable to participate, bad back day, punishment for the 14 hour shift Friday rspb travellimg then to Newark on the way back, got home around 20.30 hrs, the new buildings are turkey sheds belonging to mossops farms.

ps gannet news the juv bird on the river don has been taken into care birds were seen in Leicestershire and long eaton on the notts derby border right on the river trent

Yikes, I am in a parallel universe

at times it is difficult to see the wood for the trees Colin -- its a wonder good birds are found in Lincs when we cannot even trace a wood! but it was maybe Great Birnham Wood

does anyone know who actually saw the birds, I am unclear how this twitter thing operates, good finds and I can,t make my mind up whether derek actually reported them or recorded them, I know I am thick and easily confused and just not literate in all this modern stuff, I still work money out in shillings and pence

I started wading through the forum.... I could die of old age before I get through that lot, I think I'll just take notice of reports like "Grey Phalarope at NW corner of Covenham reservoir".

well its like this colin I am same as you, but the thing that bothers me is I sometimes put reports in that might be considered to be sensitive eg red kite sightings etc, now I am not wishing to supress any info that might help others, I am not like, that but it gives me concern that my comments and info is being transmitted to god knows where and I seem to have no control over it. I know info placed on this forum is going to be accessed by others probably not members on the forum but that is different from instant transmission to others I perhaps do not know, egg collecters and the like or am I being over critical here ? I don't know, I can't say I approve and am concerned being a lifelong conservationist about these matters can anyone reassure me and my probable paranoid concerns. if everyone is happy with it that's ok but I just feel uncomfortable about it. it is probably very convenient when out in the field for rapid response and I can understand it but am just concerned that's all.

Hi Terry. I only ever put stuff out I am comfortable with. In the unlikely event that I were to beat other birders to a find I would put it out if it were at Donna Nook or somewhere like that but most of my birding is done on private farmland on the coast and up on the wolds.
If I do discover anything that I consider worthy of recording and it happens to be on private land I report it to the LBC with the secrecy label attached ! At least then the species is still recorded.

I have looked at that roy but I can't remember ever using the @lincsbirders link, not being a hardened twitcher and never have been but I will go out of my way to see a good bird if I am in the area, lists of numbers in counties, country or world don't concern me in a competitive way although I have a very hefty world list I don't discuss it because it means nothing to me really. I just like to travel to different countries and study the birds there and that's it really. I will readily share info with anyone who knows or asks me but I am just not comfortable with this automatic transfer to the world.
