A Yellow-browed Warbler was at the bottom of South Sea Lane, Humberston mid-afternoon + a Mealy Redpoll.

2 Great Grey Shrikes were in the Low Farm area at Tetney

Nice one Chris.
Yesterday I was torn between birding Tetney, Fitties & it's environs (Sth. sea Lane) or heading off again to Donna Nook .

Unfortunately the Bluethroat swung it. Resulting in long walks, aching knees and dipping both the Bluethroat at Pyes & the Pallas's at Saltfleet.

great grey shrike, probably one of the Low Farm area birds,( the derelict Low Farm is just one field inland, for those who don't know the area), 2 ybw and a whinchat along Commissioner's Bank, on morning of 15/10.

Thanks for that. A few more reasons why I should stick to birding Tetney. ;0(

I knew were Low farm but hadn't noticed any buildings derelict or otherwise. Are there any?

You are of course right, Derek, that the farmhouse which used to stand by the track was demolished long ago, though some of us oldies remember it well! A bit of a Pye's Hall type situation I guess - 'area names' referring to features no longer present. The Low Farm house, you'll probably know, was once the HQ of the Cleethorpes Ringing Group, before they moved operations to Donna Nook (I was still at school then - I'm not that old). Hence the strong birding association with the place, and the lingering name I suppose.

I didn't know about the ringing groups association with that building until a while ago, when the discussion about recording birds in Linc's, Northcotes and Caton Haighs diaries was in progress on the forum.

While talking with Linc's birders at Tetney the above discussion including local ringing groups was mentioned, along with an observatory located at Northcotes and the Cleethorpes ringing group. Marvelous what local knowledge there is once you get talking.
