Obviously, some of my records from Quad 3 this morning are duplicating some of those given by CA and SR. 17 Whooper Swans on the flashes and 10 more resting on the mudflats, Common Buzzard, Peregrine, 2 Merlins, 45 Goldfinches, Chiffchaff, Lapland Bunting, Goldcrest, 2 Long-tailed Tits, Gannet and 2 Red-throated Divers.

Hi Steve,

We only had the 17 Whoopers (flashes) and a Woodcock at Quad 3.

The Common Buzzard, 2 Peregrine, 2 Merlin, 35 Goldfinch & Lapland Buntings were all seen N of Stonebridge as were the 10 Whoopers in off (seen in groups of 3, 4 & 3 with the latter group seen coming in off late afternoon).

The Chiffchaff was at Quad 2.

regards

Chris

Thanks Chris,

Obviously 37 Whoopers in all, as my party of 10 was on the mudflats towards Howden's Pullover at ca. 1000 and was still there at 1150. All in all, a pleasant day despite the cool and blustery wind.

Grid reference for the flashes where the swans are Geoff, is TF 440975.
