1 Blue-winged Teal (1st winter male) still present this morning, showing well in front of hide, preening and standing out on fallen branch.
Also 193 Gadwall, 3 Teal, 17 Shoveler, 1 Pochard & 8 Tufted Duck. 1 Little Grebe. 1 Water Rail.
1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Snipe & 5 Reed Buntings on tip.
1 Grey Wagtail flew over near farm.

Brief fly by yesterday as single bird flew in front of hide at c 1.45 p.m. towards West bay. Flew back a few minutes later and disappeared into the reeds!

Also c 200 Gadwall, 1 Teal, 1 Pintail and 1 Pochard, c 20 Shovelers, 10 Tufted Duck and a few Mallard.

Buzzard over West bay and Kingfisher perched briefly in front of hide.

One Blue-winged Teal still present today. Seen in bay to right of hide, then flew into west bay and later flew, with 2 female Shoveler, right down the mere into east bay.
Also 3 Pintail & 2 Pochard.
c45 Lesser Redpolls in birches by borrow pit.
1 Great Spotted Woodpecker and 1 Treecreeper in wood.
c70 Redwings, c30 Fieldfares, 6 Yellowhammers & 2 Reed Buntings in hedges.
