There were c80 Snow Buntings and c 60 Twite together at Brickyard Lane. Numbers were difficult as they could be flighty. There was also a flock of 9 Shorelark together just on the saltings in the same area until 12.30 at least.

Hello,

Re. the Red-necked grebe sightings that John has withdrawn. My apologies, it was very windy out there on Sunday and when John joined me, I had shouted to John that I had had a Red-necked grebe close in on the sea at the southern end of the reserve at Mablethorpe N.E. on the previous day. I'm afraid that when I shouted across about the Great-crested grebes earlier in the seawatch, that this was misheard/assumed to be the Red-necked as well. 2 of the grebes were flying in close company with 3 guillemots quite close in shore, so it made for a very odd looking group indeed.

The full counts for the time I was out there were Gannet 2 >N, Guillemot 16>N, Red-throated Diver 17>N, Velvet Scoter 1>N, Eider 2>N, Common Scoter 115>S and 10>N, Great-crested Grebe 5>N.

Regards,
Cliff
