There are 2 roosting on the island most nights at the moment.

I'm not sure of the maximum anyone else has had in the roost, but 9 is the most I have seen over the last couple of winters or so. Interestingly, however, for the first time this winter I have also seen birds roosting at the adjacent Swanholme Lakes, so unsure whether this is a new roost site developing or birds moving from the regular Hartsholme roost site.

Location: Swanpool, Lincoln
7 Little Egrets roosted again this evening, low down in the trees on the north side of the island, The last bird came in at 16:00.
