Pair of Great Spotted Woodpeckers drumming at Hill Holt early morning. Interestingly i watched one from the bottom of the tree as it appeared to do little 'test' drums on the dead wood at the top of the tree before doing the full blown drum. Pair of Nuthatches as well, had both on a feeder at the same time in the week but obviously camera in car. 3 male Bullfinches resplendent in the morning sun. Sparrowhawk along Wood Lane, Norton Disney, and a Goldcrest in Norton Big Wood.
2 SEOs at Stapleford this afternoon and a Sparrowhawk over.

Cheers,

Oliver.

Hi Oliver

Any decent pointers as to where you are seeing your shorties at the moment , I had a walk last week from the bridge at stapleford down the west bank of the river as far as the firing range but to no avail. I also had bit of a drive around the back roads down to beckingham but still no luck .

There looks to be some good habitat for them and any local barn owls also .

Thanks
