I visited Manby Flashes yesterday to find the Martin Chapman, the land owner has removed the furniture from the hide because of further vandalism. He has placed a note on the wall saying that if it persists he may be forced to remove the hide. It's very frustrating for him and us that some mindless morons, who probably can't read his notice anyway, are potentially spoiling our enjoyment of this excellent site. I urge members to visit this site and where possible express our solidarity with Martin. However, we can't be there when the vandals visit as it's probably after dark, and judging by the detritus in the parking area, when they're out of their minds (?) on drugs.

Yours

Annoyed of Louth

Can LBC pay for a lock and sets of keys for those who visit the site? (Members to pay for a key). Seems to work for the Cut End hide.

I think they'd just kick their way in. Cut End hide might damage their toes

When I visit I take a chair with me. Having no furniture in the hide does seem to deter the vandals, but it's a pity there is no logbook now.
The last few times I've been, the water levels have been perfect for waders and I'm expecting something good to turn up if it stays the same.
As I've mentioned before you can't get to the shed hide now either, as a barbed wire fence has been erected.
