Hi
Am inclined to agree with you. I have visited both sites at Fiskerton several times of late and have only seen 1 swift. No Swallows or House Martins.
There are certainly no swallows in the Wragby area either. Just 2 or 3 Swifts so maybe it is a bad year.
Malcolm.

Every year we get Swallows nesting in our stable. This year there seemed to be more than usual in the area until one day I found two dead Swallows within yards of the stable, there are now just a pair left.

Was there some competition for the nest site or did they just starve to death?

Generally there seems to be plenty about the county, so I don't think it is a bad year for them.

I counted 11 Swifts, 3 Swallows and 1 House Martin in the skies over Boston on return from voluntary work at Pilgrim Hospital this afternoon.

9 visits to Blackmoor Bridge since 19 April
Total counts
sand martin 2
swallow 26
house martin 4
swift 8
I would expect a lot more.
Cheers. Rick
