I went to Thurlby big pit this morning to take some photos of the sunrise which was great; didn't take binoculars but did see 4 Whoopers, 2 adults and 2 juveniles among the literally hundreds and hundreds of water fowl. Well worth a visit if you haven't been. Had a ride down towards Welbourn and Temple Bruer and saw several Kestrels and Common Buzzards, also saw a flock of Fieldfares that must have numbered at least 300 birds.

Cheers,

Oliver.

The whoopers were not there when I left at about 15:45 yesterday. I would have said 1500 wigeon and a 1000 coot Oliver. A huge gull roost was also building up when I left. Lots of mallard, teal, a few shoveler and 94 mute swans also. As you say well worth a visit
