Had my first of the winter on Sunday. Two separate birds, a solitary one in Hubbards Hills and another with a large mixed flock of 100 or so Chaffinch and Goldfinch in the top end of Westgate Fields near the deer fence. Has anyone else been seeing them?

Yes, a first year male ringed Thursday 22nd Jan. at Stenigot associating with a large flock of finches/buntings. It was posted on the Forum Ringing Section.

my first of the winter on the 25th Jan - seen from Baston Fen but around ruined buildings north of the river (strictly Northorpe Fen) - a single bird with 21 reed bunting, 2 corn bunting, 5 tree sparrows, yellowhammers etc

by the way whilst at Baston Fen two ravens flew west just south of the reserve @0855

We had a female on garden feeders on 27th & 28th December, on the 25th January at Forest Pines there was a flock of 23
