At Stainton Le Vale at 1030 this morning I watched a Raven harassing a Peregrine for a couple of minutes until 2 Buzzards joined in. The Raven flew off towards Thoresway whilst the Peregrine was heading towards Binbrook.

Hi Stuart,

In this area it is mostly the other way round. At two local sites where both species nest the peregrines harass the ravens relentlessly. I guess if there was more suitable habitat they would not attempt to nest on top of each other. On a happy note, despite not being the friendliest of neighbours both species reared young at both sites.

Kind regards,

Ian

Hi Ian,
This is not an area where either species are known to breed to my knowledge - it probably would be the other way round if it were.
Regards,
Stuart

They do seem to be slowly colonising Lincolnshire from the South West. Unlike the kites, which are tolerated most game oriented farmers and livestock farmers are not welcoming the return of the Raven.
