While visiting a friends house in Scotter a juvenile Blackbird was spotted by my friend while I was inside having a cup of tea, she came in and told us, so we went and checked, at first without my glasses on I thought it was a young Song Thrush. I asked for my driving glasses and on putting them on realized I was wrong and it was clearly a young Blackbird. There was no sign of the parents but it didn't look un-fed. When it clocked us it made for the road, so one of us, not me, went outside to stop it going on the road! When we went out of sight the adult male came down to feed it
Sadly I'd left the Nikon at home but did have my compact Sony so managed to take a poor photo and video of the male adult feeding it at the far end of the garden.
It seems very early considering the cold and damp weather of late, but at least I have proof of the sighting plus four of us saw it!
Could this be the earliest in North Lincs, probably not, but we were well pleased.

JTG
PS: April 6th the young juv still being fed by dad my friends told me today
