The Lincolnshire Bird Club

We aim to have all 2014 records entered onto the database by the middle of April, so that plans can be made to start the next Bird Report.

If you have any 2014 records you would like to submit, that have not already been entered onto the Forum, it would be appreciated if you could let us have them as soon as possible, via the County Recorders.

The preferred method would be to use the LBC template (see Lincs Bird Reports - Posting sightings and access to LBC database - Re: Posting Sightings - Gathering records for LBC database), but we can accept records in any form. As long as you include the species, location, date and total, the sightings do not have to be in any particular order. We record common species alongside the more rare and scarce, so all sightings are welcome.

Please note we get ALL BirdTrack records, so if you enter regularly on BirdTrack, then these records will be used,

Species considered rare at county level are dealt with by the Lincolnshire Bird Records Committee. The committee currently comprises Graham Catley, Phil Hyde, James Siddle, Steve Keightley and Andy Sims. The secretary is Roy Harvey. Please send all details and descriptions of any LRBC species to Roy Harvey; roy.harvey100@btinternet.com.

All records of LRBC species should be submitted as soon as possible after the sighting and not left until the end of each year. County rarities accepted by the LBRC will be published in the report together with the initials of the finder/identifier.

The verification of the data that appears in the annual report is essential to the production of an accurate and meaningful report. A systematic approach to the verification of ALL rare bird records, no matter who has reported them, prior to the production of the annual report is required before they are published.
