A visit to Risby Warren produced:
13 (at least)Ring Ouzels..to be found between the 2nd and third row of conifers and along the rocky wall,
and further west;
at least 18 Wheatears,around the large dune areas...

Earlier one Ring Ouzel,MSQ,and a Grasshopper warbler briefly heard nr car park..

Neil Drinkall found a loose flock of 7 Ring Ouzels on Risby on Saturday and there were 7 on Sunday and 6 today so I assume you saw all 13 together Roger to confirm they were not just the 7 moving around as they do frequently resorting to the belts of pines then often flying up to 800m to reappear somewhere totally different. Today they spent hours in the trees in the heat but were seen again this evening. The birds are often with a pair of Mistle Thrushes and a few Fieldfares; this morning there were at least 38 Fieldfares present.

Visit this evening & none seen..up early for little owl tomorrow so will look again..
Ive only ever seen one before..ring ouzel that is..

Saw just five ring ouzels this morning. They soon disappeared too. I did count 71 fieldfare in the field with the sheep which was beyond the third copse of pines. Only four wheatear with non in the area of unstable ground close to the carpark.

I spent an hour counting them..over and over again,hiding between the trees and came up with the fiqure of at least 13,...most of the time they were on the ground,yes moving around,thats why I spent so long carefully counting them over and over again for at least an hour,...
i counted 13 on the ground eventually all at the same time,a mixture of females and males,i counted them several times on the ground and 13 was the fiqure,how many times do i have to state this crikey?

Pity they were not put on the forum on Saturday or Sunday! I wouldn't have been able to view them unless they were viewable from the "car park" but I know a few who could .
