Besides the Black Stork already reported, also seen was an Osprey, 1 Little Tern and a few Sandwich and Common Tern on the saltmarsh on the high tide.

Thanks for putting the news out about the Black Stork so quick Geoff. Got any thoughts about how many are about at the moment, its got to be at least 3.

Hi Phil, Always glad to help.
I can only go on what RBA says, although the Conisholme report appears to be a mistake by RBA. There seems to be two in Lincs, 1) Reads Island/ Alkboro, 2) Donna Nook/ Theddlethorpe though where it is now is any ones guess. Spurn 1 and Notts. 1.
Any chance the Reads Island bird is different from the Alkboro one, GPC might know?

I hadn't realised the Bird Guides Conisholme report was a mistake, doesn't look like they've retracted it. What makes you think it was a mistake? I agree with your summary otherwise.

Anyone else got a view?

i had contradictive news from two lots of birders which said that another birder had seen the bird at Conisholme and Mablethorpe at the same time, so either he'd seen it twice that morning or the Conisholme report was in error.

Contra previous reports these photos appear to be of a juvenile, as expected in this influx. Apparently a caravaner staying at Alkborough photographed that bird over the camp site so hopefully it will be ageable as well.
