One query - can you just issue a reminder on what BAP stands for?

BAP stands for Biodiversity Action Plan

The United Kingdom Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) is the governmental response to the Convention on Biological Diversity opened for signature at the Rio Earth Summit in 1992.

The UK was the first country to produce a national biodiversity action plan, and the UK BAP described the biological resources of the UK and provided detailed plans for conservation of these resources. Action plans for the most threatened species and habitats were set out to aid recovery, and national reports, produced every three- to five-years, showed how the UK BAP was contributing to the UK’s progress towards the significant reduction of biodiversity loss called for by the CBD.

The Lincolnshire Biodiversity Action Plan (LBAP) for Greater Lincolnshire was published in 2011 (3rd edition, 2011-2020), by the Lincolnshire Biodiversity Partnership (LBP).

The LBAP is a nature strategy that identifies the issues facing the habitats and species of Lincolnshire and describes the actions needed to bring about a more sustainable situation. This BAP covers the historic county of Lincolnshire: the area of Lincolnshire County Council plus North and N.E. Lincolnshire Councils.

Biodiversity Action Plans (BAPs) set out various actions for improving the state of threatened biodiversity. The plans are either for a type of habitat such as lowland meadows or rivers, or for a species such as water vole or natterjack toad.

Each BAP also includes details of the distribution of the priority habitats and species and the main threats and opportunities. In the UK there is a hierarchy of BAPs – from the UK BAP, to the country BAPs, to local BAPs. This Lincolnshire BAP identifies priority habitats and species in Lincolnshire, and conservation and enhancement actions to take place at a local level, which will also contribute to national and international conservation commitments.
