The Red-footed falcon that turned up in Staffordshire and then flew to Pode, Lincs in mid August has been fund shot dead in Cambridgeshire. Many thousands of birdwatchers saw this bird and marveled at it's beauty. The RSPB have issued a £1000 reward for any news.

Instead of being bothered what the RSPB is doing with their money, or how many non-members contribute to this Forum, the Lincolnshire Bird Club should throw all it's resources at keeping birds alive.

The news of the bird can be found on all the birding web sites today

What an absolutely pathetic state of affairs…

A Bird, that brought such great pleasure to so many.

It beggars belief that Birds of prey are being shot, or any wild Birds for that matter, in this day and age…

Regards,

Ben

Yeah, I was gutted to read about this vile act yesterday morning...

RBA have created a donation pledge to help raise the reward which can be found here http://www.rarebirdalert.co.uk/v2/Conte ... =856841917

Should the reward money not be needed the money will go to http://birdersagainst.org who are in themselves a very worthy organisation.. Imagine if every birder that went to see this fabulous bird was to pledge a tenner... Would that not be a statement in itself...
