Yesterday at 11.30 while pruning lilac in the back garden heard the gulls calling above, looked and saw them as usual then glanced to my right and saw 4 Buzzard displaying (as far as I remember never had four together over the garden, fetched the bins and watched them for a good ten minutes. Didn't want to chance fetching the camera and lose them, was well chuffed these birds made my year :!:

Then later spotted a female Sprawk perched in the hawthorn tree managed to take a few pics.

Today looked out the back lounge window at midday and spotted another Sprawk and realised it had prey because it was mantling over it so checked with bins and it was the male and the victim was a Starling. Of course there were lots of branches and plants etc in the way of me filming/photographing it but that wasn't going to stop me :!: From me seeing it to the plucking, eating etc the hawk was here one hour, how lucky am I, as it took off in to the conifer I took a snap of it landing on it poor but am not bothered.

Why I bother leaving the house beats me, I had three days at BB last week and other than seeing my bogey bird Goldcrest it wasn't worth going out.

Right I'll bring my under-read "my garden" up to date on the other section.

Regards

John :D :D :D :D :D
