Highlights around the realignment area were 38 Avocets, 210 Redshanks, one Little Ringed Plover, 2 Whimbrel, a male Ring Ouzel, 2 Willow Warblers, one Chiffchaff, one Common Whitethroat, one Lesser Whitethroat, 5 Swallows, one Peregrine, one Merlin and one Short-eared Owl, although a second Short-eared Owl was also present at the south end.
