Who will get the gold medal for last report of a 2016 swift posted on this thread?

I thought it was mine until Neil came with that late surge.

Probably a few more days/ weeks yet - I'm still confident. I've got eyes in the top of my head.

One over St Peter Avenue, Cleethorpes, at 9.20am today.

As it happened, I spotted it just as I was about to go into a shop to buy a birthday card.

The bird was in no particular hurry - unlike a woman with a walking stick who was coming out of the shop as I was looking above.

She barged right through me, muttering something derogatory about people who have “their heads in the clouds”.

Just because she walked aided by a stick she seemed to think normal rules of civility didn’t apply to her.

(However, I didn’t let the incident spoil the sighting of the swift.)
