A seawatch was made at the south end between 0845 and 1115 (high tide at 0800). Most movement was to the north until about 0930, then reverted to the south for the remainder of the watch. Moving north were 77 Common Terns, 5 Sandwich Terns, 4 Little Terns, 3 Gannets and a Fulmar. To the south were 330 Common Terns, 2 Arctic Terns, 83 Sandwich Terns, 5 Cormorants, one Gannet, 3 Fulmars, 2 Manx Shearwaters, one Arctic Skua, 2 Common Scoters, 13 Teal, 2 Razorbills and 6 Black-tailed Godwits. Quite a few birds, mainly auks and terns, were far out on the horizon and dropping into the troughs and were not fully identifiable. Waders returning to the Humber or settling on the shore included 1,120 Dunlin, 6 Curlew Sandpipers, 2 Little Stints, 78 Sanderling, 7 Bar-tailed Godwits, 10 Ringed Plovers and 2 Ruffs. Amongst the gulls onshore were a 3rd cy Yellow-legged Gull and 7 Mediterranean Gulls (5 adults and 2 2nd cy).
