Thank you very much for taking the time to report to us details of the sighting of a colour ringed Curlew Sandpiper (Calidris ferruginea). This project is a collaboration between Giske Ornithologiocal Station and Male Ornithological Station (both stations run by Sunnmore Ringing Group), Revtangen Ornithologiocal Station and Jomfruland Bird Station. Information about the bird and its movement is given below:
Ring no : Stavanger 8N58421 Yellow flag AZH ( Left tarsus : Left tarsus metal . Left tibia red colour ring. Right tibia: yellow flag engraved with three black letters AZH). :LAR:LBM:RAYN(AZH)F Age/sex: 1K (hatched 2016). Ringing date: 26.08.2016, 08 hrs. Ringing place: Male (62*58'11''N-007*03'16''E) Fræna, Møre & Romsdal, Norway Remarks: Caught in walk-in-trap Ringer: Oystein Wiik / Sunnmore Ringing Group.
Finding date: 04.09.2016 , 08.30 hrs. Observed : Frampton Marsh (52*57'N-00*40'E) Lincolnshire,England Distance : 1173km SSW . Direction: 201 deg. Time: 0-0-9 (9 days after ringing) . Remarks: Flock size estimated to 120 birds.
