A sea watch south of Crook Bank this morning was predictably quieter than yesterday given the flat calm conditions:
Shelduck 13N Teal 111N Pintail 9N Manx Shearwater 1N Gannet 189 Guillemot 5N Brent Goose 11N Wigeon 192N Mallard 18N Common Scoter 330 (270N and 60 on sea) Red-throated Diver 14N Leach's Petrel 1N at 0756 Cormorant 33 Arctic Skua 6N Sandwich Tern 112N
The dunes between Crook Bank and Brickyard Lane were rather quiet but 3 Whinchat were around all day on the track at the rear of Conoco Gas terminal. Around 1230 there was a noticeable southerly movement of raptors seen from Crook Bank car park and in an hour the following flew south
Marsh Harrier 1 Honey Buzzard 1 (dark juvenile) Common Buzzard 16 Hobby 1 Kestrel 4
