A flock of 281 Pink-footed Geese, counted from photos, flew NW over Swanpool at 09:30 this morning.
This is the 2nd flock I have had this autumn and both were flying between N & NW.
Usually I do not get them flying in this direction until January/February?

A few thousand in stubble fields around Worlaby top and Worlaby Carr today. Quite a sight when they all took to the air.

A flock of 186 Pink-feet flew in from the west at 11:00, they circled the area several times before dropping onto a stubble field on the east side of pig lane. They remained on the field for 35 minutes until flushed by a dog walker when they flew off east.
This is the first time I have had a flock land on the patch.
