The 2 Cattle Egrets were still present at Skidbrooke this morning, in field with cattle at TF437934.

With Rick Bennett, John Clarkson & Ben Ward.

No sign of the Cattle Egrets today.
The cattle have been taken in according to the farmer, a search of nearby cattle field was without success.

There was no sign for almost an hour when I was there until about 245pm when both birds flew in from the south and were then showing well near the farm north of St Boltoph's

We also had no luck in two visits to Skidbrooke yesterday. The first visit was at about 10:15 and all we found was a number of swans nearby at TF447917, There were 31 Whooper Swans and 16 Mute swans. We spent the next few hours at Grainthorpe Haven looking for the Pallid Harrier. All we managed were three sightings of a distant Harrier that may well have been a Pallid Harrier. None of our sightings were nearer than 200 metres.

Also present at Grainthorpe Haven were Peregrine and Merlin.

We returned to Skidbrooke at about 15:15 - still no luck but the swans were still present.

Regards,

C&S

A short eared Owl turned up about half and hour after you left but it was distant .

Both birds present again at 1030 today 251116. The cattle have been moved from the original field and both birds were in a field between Grange Farm and South Farm, easily viewable from the road.

Regards

Nige
