In 2016 I have compiled 24 complete lists around the village of Dunsby plus a few casual records. These were spread throughout the year at roughly fortnightly intervals. Thanks to the wonders of Birdtrack I know that I have seen a total of 88 species comprising 916 separate records. The biggest list (50 species) was in May. Nothing especially unusual but it adds interest to my dog walks, improves by recognition skills and sets a benchmark for future years.

This year I have submitted 387 lists to BirdTrack for my Swanpool/Boultham mere patch with a total of 15,840 records. I recorded a total of 130 species, all self found. My previous best year was 2008 when I recorded 128 species, the last year that I recorded Turtle Dove!

Andy - I for one have thoroughly enjoyed reading your Patch reports and look foreward to doing so next year.
Have a good 2017 everybody.
