A 1st winter drake Scaup was at the mere this morning. Also female Shelduck, 27 Tufted Duck & 7 Pochard.
Yesterday afternoon a Raven flew west over my garden calling.

Still present today spending most of its time in the bottom bay, sleeping or preening.

Since finding this bird on Wednesday I have spent about 13 hours at the mere and in this time I have never seen the bird dive, it appears to be healthy and the Pochard & Tufted Duck with which it is associates spend periods feeding, interspersed with sleeping & preening?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
