Had to go to Horsington to get a part for my mower and called in at Kirkby Pits whilst in the area.

Nice to hear 'purring' Turtle Dove, plus a Cuckoo.

Several hundred large gulls on the tip. A scan through produced no 'white-wingers' but someone with time and patience could well pick out something of interest.

Had a quick look for RAF Woodhall but couldn't find it. Must prepare better for next time.
Anyone know the nearest post code?

Roy

PS. Also had a Cuckoo calling in Grasby this week - the first for many years.

Roy,

I'm not sure the nearest postcode would be as useful as telling you that the Airfield entrance is on the east side of the road between Woodhall Spa and Tattershall Thorpe, about halfway between the two.

Thanks John.

I am advised that even if I had found it I would not have got in as the entrance gate is locked.
Have contacted Banovallum House to ask for the access code but have had no response which I find
rather disappointing, having been a member of the LWT for more years than I care to remember.

Speak to Dave Bromwich for the code.

It would seem that Banovallum House did indeed respond very quickly to my request for the gate code,
but the mail got lost somewhere in the ether. My apologies to anyone caused distress by my previous comments.

Like Roy I am a long time member of the LWT. Can someone tell me why I need to contact Banovallum House to get the code to access one of the reserves? Surely my subscription should be enough to give me FREE uninhibited access to all Reserves? If not, what is the point of being a member?
