I checked out the small linear pond at Crowland (TF230106) today, where Kevin Durose found Linc's first SR-eDamsels recently. I was not disappointed with 4 males and a single female, which included a pair in tandem, altiough ovipositing was not observed.
The pond is very narrow which means excellant VERY close prolonged views as the insects rest on Potamogeton leaves.
Of interest, although outside our area, East Yorkshire recorded their first SR-eD's recently at Oak Rd pond in Hull, so folk in the north would be wise to keep a check out.
In fact, all Erythromma spp now encounted in Lincs would be worthy of further srutiny. You never know!

Grahame
